For me, this was kind of gutsy. This is kind of gutsy.
That picture up there? Yeah. That’s me. That’s me at a friend’s house for a party. That’s me wearing my ridiculously tall new heels, a pair of very tight leggings, and a lovely BCBGeneration sweater that’s just long enough to cover my crotch. All of this in public.
I’m kind of proud of that.
But I’m also kind of proud of this picture. Like a lot of people, I don’t like the way I look in pictures or the way I sound on recordings—funny because I do announcing and voiceover work on the side. It isn’t because of that fear that I’ve cropped this image, though. I’ve just done that to maintain my anonymity.
I got a decent reception from my friends, though I felt like I was trying to show off a bit. I wasn’t. My friend’s place is all hard floors while my apartment is carpeted. This gave me a chance to practice walking in them—which I did for hours.
I’m a bit proud of myself. For having this courage and, admittedly, because I think I look pretty damn good.
